my fifth week


In my fifth week at Dubai Land in Finance Department . We work in Purchasing Department according to our work plan; it was very fun to work in this Department as we learned a new skills and known more about the work in purchasing and process that they used.

Mr, Saad toke us there and introduced us the manager of the Purchasing Department Mr. Rashid, he was super kind to us and toke us through the section and the work they do. He make sure that we have available space to work on it, and he was explain to us personally the process and how they organized their files, he was very organized person and we were very happy to work with him.

We learned how to make purchasing order for the customer and agreements with other companies. Also, we did the evaluation for every company that they deal with; making sure that their original invoices are with their requests.

The thing that I liked this week that we learned a new things and we enjoy it, the Manager was very helpful and explain to us very briefly about their work. 

fourth week


In the fourth week at Dubai land, I was working in revenue and in the account payable. The work in revenue was the same as I worked in the last weeks. In Account payable, we worked with Miss. Hessa. She toke me through her work and what she do, firstly she explains to me how to put the bills in the oracle system to clear the bill and make sure that the suppliers received their money. Miss. Hessa was very kind to us and she try to make it very easy for us by giving  the whole information about each the supplier and their code number.

The one thing I didn’t like this week is if kholoud work in this computer I just wait for her to finish her work then I start mine, because we just have one space available with one computer only. 

On the other hand, we had fun this week as the National Day was coming and the preparation for this day was going . We help the employers in finance section to decorating the place.             

my third week


On my third week at Dubai Land, I worked in Revenue again, repeating the same work of the first week. I was counting the revenue and checks which we always receiving from the counter. After that, put the all checks in excel sheet to take it to the audit to check again. Then, do the reports and put the numbers in Oracle System to balance between the debits and credits.

This week was a little bit boring, because the work was same and it was a kind of a routine, I didn’t learn a new skills.

 

second week


In my second week at Dubai Land in Finance Department, I was working for the three days in revenue which is the same in the first week. Counting the revenue and put the checks on the systems, and used the Oracle System to balance the Debits with the Credits.

For the other two days, I worked in Budgeting section with Miss, Kawthar. Since it’s the end of the year so their budgeting was done for the next year, she explains to me the whole process and how she did her budgeting for next year. When she was explaining I was known already about the budgeting, so it was familiar to me as I take it in my finance course, it was easy to understand it quickly.

This week was kind of boring to me, because me and my colleague Kholoud didn’t have office equipment’s available to work on it such as office space, computers and calculators which mean we just sat on there looking for someone to leave their desks without doing nothing.

My first week

In my first week in Dubai Land in Financial Department, I start working in Revenue. In Revenue I have learnt how to calculate the daily revenue.
 
Firstly, I Receive daily revenue and count the revenue (cash, check, credit card).Then, put all the checks in one excel Sheet to conformity with reports.
After that we put the checks which are in the excel sheets in the software which called Oracle system on the debits side, which is calculating automatically the revenue of debit to balance with Credit side.

My Plan

This my plan for the six weeks as you can see below every week I will be learning and working in different section.
The first three weeks I will be working on Revenue .Then, in the fourth week I will be work in Account Payable, after that I will be working in purchasing. At the last week I will be working in Cash Management section.

my first Day on Dubai Land 4/11/2012


Since it’s my 3rd year in DWC in Financial Banking and Services, we must work for a six weeks to gain work experience.
I have started my work placement on Sunday 4/11/2012, at Dubai Land in Financial services department.
On the first day, when I arrived to the place (Dubai Land), I went to the Human Resources to meet the Manager there. Then, he guided me to the Finance department and introduced me to my Supervisor Mr.saad.
I and the other girl with me sat down with the supervisor, and he explained us the rules that must be followed in the work place, then he put the plan of the work that we will be following for the whole period (six weeks).
